Boho Elopement in the San Juan Mountains, CO

Intimate Elopement: San Juan, CO

So many details to absolutely fall in love with this intimate, boho elopement. Firstly, the bridal couple themselves, Kelsi and George are two of the most wonderful human beings. Secondly, the destination, Ouray, San Juan Mountains, Colorado, is truly spectacular. Thirdly, the wedding venue and accommodation at the Old School Lodge, Montrose, is fabulous. Lastly, the wedding vendors, which are listed below are all outstanding.

Kelsi and George planned their special elopement celebration during the wildflower season in June. They organized fun and adventure from sunrise to sunset. Waking up early in the morning on the wedding day, we drove to a spectacular location for a sunrise portrait session. The bridal couple then returned to the Old School Lodge in Montrose to get ready for the ceremony with their bridal party.

All guests drove out to their private campsite, where the beautiful, intimate wedding ceremony took place. Followed by a relaxing mountainside cocktail hour. Everyone came back to the Airbnb lodge for an intimate family-style dinner under the golden sunset. Wedding receptions under a starlit sky with the love of your life and your family and friends can be the perfect way to end your dream day.

About The Couple: San Juan, CO

In all the weddings that I have had the privilege of photographing, the bridal couple desire most, that everyone has an epic day. So much thought and preparation go into all elopements and weddings, and it is bliss to see it all come together on the day. Kelsi and George obviously couldn’t wait to marry each other and become MR & MRS.

They wanted the best of wedding vibes and to have fun with friends and family. Both desired every person to feel fun, light, and happy on the day, with tons of laughter and an easy flow.

An intimate wedding with a boho, whimsical, garden style, in a breathtaking majestic mountain landscape, surrounded by all of their favorite people. This was their heart’s desire and what they said they wanted, and it was delivered on so many levels.

Kelsi wore a lovely white summer dress with puff sleeves and black block heel sandals for the morning sunrise session. George wore a short sleeve turquoise colored shirt and sand-colored jeans with sneakers. They frolicked in fields of wildflowers and embraced on red rock formations with a backdrop of San Juan mountains and lake.

Kelsi looked stunning in a hand-sewn, 3D lace, A-line boho style bridal dress. A deep plunge V-neck illusion and pockets. She wore her hair in a gorgeous half-up style with pretty flowers throughout and a chapel-length veil. George looked fantastic in a grey suit with a white groom’s shirt, a neutral-colored tie, and tan shoes. The floral bouquet and boutonniere were lovely in creamy whites, pale peach, and sage green.

Kelsi and George hoped for wedding portraits that were honest and authentic. Capturing their personalities, emotions, and location in a true, vibrant, and full-of-life way.
