Golden Hour Couples Photos in Colorado Springs (With Dogs!)

How we met

Hannah actually came to a content day I hosted back in April! She had just recently moved to Colorado Springs from Michigan, and quickly became one of my favorite friends ever. I hadn’t found anybody else who would drink the cheap ass margarita mix with me & didn’t judge me for it - so of course we became close.

And of course we introduced our dogs since we both have a husky + a german shepherd. While my german just played fetch the whole time, our two huskies ganged up on Hannah & Aaron’s german to chase him around the yard till they were all too tired to keep going! I tell ya these dogs are like children that you have to exhaust.

Since we became friends I had heard sooo many amazing things from Hannah about Aaron, and he lived up to those expectations when we first met. So FINALLY getting to photograph them together was the best thing ever!!

The golden hour session in Colorado Springs

We hung out in Colorado Springs for their couples session at sunset and got the most gorgeous golden hour ever. It was the most chill session getting to hang out with my friends and them getting to have time to enjoy each other + love on their doggos!! If you’re wanting engagement photos with your dogs this is your sign to do it!!

A tip for bringing your dogs

One tip I have if you want to bring your dog(s) to your elopement day: have a designated friend/family member come along who can take care of them!! You want to be able to hang out with your love for a little while without having to hold onto a leash, no matter how much you love your 4-legged babe(s). So having somebody there who can hold on to them for a little while & clean up after them is super helpful!

For sessions, you can do this too, but usually, it’s easier for us to keep control of the dogs during sessions since they’re a shorter amount of time.

And we’ll always make sure that the location(s) we’re going to visit allow dogs!

Anyway, just love these two, love that they love tequila & margs, and love that we practically have the same dogs! SO ready to shoot with them again!!
