Washington DC War Memorial Wedding | Lyra + won
Lyra and Won, where to even begin with these two? We met a few months before their wedding to do engagement photos with their pups, since they wouldn’t be able to be at the wedding, and I instantly knew they were going to be forever friends. We spent about an hour after their session just talking, sharing secrets, dreaming about our weddings and obsessing over showing one another photos of our dogs we had haha. But then their wedding day, was even more perfect. With their closest friends and family gathering in such a special place to celebrate their marriage that had been many years in the making.
They got engaged at the War memorial, and both of their parents being immigrants, and war veterans, it was so special for them to be able to get married at the DC War memorial and do photos at some of the other memorials as well! With the morning starting off with Lyra and her sister and girls doing her make up and hair, making hair trains to help one another out, and won hanging with his guys, they shared their first moment seeing one another near by where they got engaged. Tear filled eyes, not a dry eye in sight, it didn’t help the fountain at the memorial was splashing, but it kept us all cooled off in the terrible may heat, they shared the sweetest moments together. Lyra may have cried and sweated off her fake eyelashes, the groomsmen may have bought ice cream from a guy on the side of the park, and we may have all stained our clothes with sweat, but these are all what made their day so sweet. With a violinist playing soft music, their ceremony started, highlighting and proclaiming their love, with a few bumps in the ceremony, like rings being forgotten in pockets and so on, it was a beautiful perfect ceremony for these two.
They made their way to Magiannos little Italy in Tyson’s corner where we all ate the most delicious food, enjoyed fabulous fancy cocktails and amazing dessert, and then danced the night away. Friends catching the bouquet, old and new friends reuniting, and dancing til midnight, it was seriously a wedding you did not want to miss, with a group of the sweetest people ever.
